This Privacy Policy describes how the FileLens app (“FileLens”, “the app”, “we”) handles information when you use it.

Summary

FileLens is a file manager for Android. We do not operate any servers, do not collect personal data, and do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. All file operations happen locally on your device. If you connect to remote servers (e.g. FTP, SFTP/SSH), the connection credentials are stored locally on your device in encrypted form and are never transmitted to us or any third party.

Data we process

Device storage

The app requests the Android storage permissions (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, MANAGE_EXTERNAL_FILES or scoped-storage equivalents depending on Android version) to browse, open, copy, move, and manage files on your device.

• File contents and metadata are read and written only on your device.
• They are not uploaded to any server operated by us and not shared with any third party.

Remote server connections

FileLens allows you to connect to remote servers (FTP, SFTP/SSH, and similar protocols) to browse and manage files stored there.

• Connection credentials (host, port, username, password or key) are stored locally on your device in encrypted form.
• Credentials are used exclusively to establish the connection you configured and are not transmitted to us or any third party.
• Network traffic between the app and the remote server travels directly between your device and that server. We do not operate or relay through any intermediary server.
• You are responsible for the security and privacy practices of the remote servers you connect to.

Data we do not collect

• We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, accounts, payment information, contacts, photos, or camera data.
• We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or any other analytics or crash-reporting service.
• We do not include advertising SDKs and do not show ads.
• We do not use cookies or web trackers.
• We do not access your files for any purpose other than displaying and managing them at your request.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly process any data from children.

Your rights (GDPR)

Because we do not collect or store personal data on any server, requests for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection regarding data held by us are not applicable: all data (including encrypted connection credentials) lives only on your device and can be removed by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app.
